“Books give me a world where I can pause my own life for a while.”

There was a time when I was deeply connected to books. But as life moved on, I slowly drifted away from reading. Work, responsibilities, and routine took over. Like most of us, I got busy building a life. Career, family, and everything in between. Somewhere in that process, many small habits and interests slowly faded away.
Maybe this is a phase many of us go through. We get so involved in our daily lives that we forget the things we once loved. We forget to spend time with ourselves.
After crossing 30, I started noticing a change in the way I look at life. Priorities shift. You start caring less about unnecessary things and more about your own peace. After working for years in a routine-driven environment, one thing I realised is how easily we all become part of a system — almost like robots. Deadlines, work pressure, responsibilities… and very little space left for creativity or personal interests.
That is when I slowly started coming back to books.
I picked up reading again! Not with any big goal, but just to slow down a little. To build some patience again. To spend some quiet time with myself. And honestly, books helped me do that.
When I read, I feel like I am stepping into a different world for some time. A world where nothing else matters – just the story, the characters, and the emotions. Sometimes I laugh with them, sometimes I feel their pain, and sometimes I just sit and think after finishing a page.
Books give a small escape from the noise of everyday life.
I read whenever I get time. Sometimes novels, sometimes classics, sometimes self-help books, and sometimes books that make me question life and society.
I am not a professional reviewer, and I don’t try to analyse books deeply. I simply write what I felt after reading a book – what stayed with me, what made me think, and what didn’t work for me.
Apart from reading, I also love travelling. Not luxury trips, but simple journeys. Bus rides, train journeys, village stays, local food, and peaceful places. I believe both books and travel do the same thing in different ways. They take you somewhere else and show you a different perspective of life.
I started this blog with a small intention — if my thoughts connect with even a few readers like me, that is enough. If you enjoy simple, honest reflections about books and life, you might find something relatable here.
